Now that Titan Kayaks is swinging into full production, you can find out where and when to get your hands on a Genesis in your area. In Canada, that means getting a hold of Jeremy Cane or Spencer Laidley. I had a chance to chat with them briefly the other day so you all could get to know them a bit better.

Every Fall, in the Appalachian mountains around the towns of Summersville and Fayetville West Virginia, whitewater kayakers, rafters, and whitewater enthusiasts from around the world come together for the Gauley River Festival, or Gauleyfest. One of the biggest and better known whitewater festivals in North America, Gauleyfest is a must do for kayakers of all ages and abilities. Whether its the classic Upper Gauley big rapids like Pillow or Broken Paddle, or the long mellow stretches of playspot peppered Middle and Lower, the Gauley has something for everyone. This was my first year on the Gauley since 2004, and the maiden voyage of Titan Kayaks in the North American market, so needless to say I was looking forward to another year of exciting runs and….memorable parties. The whitewater of the region is matched only by the energy of the nightime festivities and the cheap gas beer and truckstop food.

After the success of our most recent composite boat design we couldn’t help but push the new design into plastic. Faster, shorter, more forgiving, the new Genesis is just all round better in every way, plus with a few new added extras.
The first public North American release of the new Genesis will be at this years Gauley Festival in West Virginia.
